ANNUAL MEMBER MAINTENANCE
Celebrating our 62nd Anniversary...
and our growing community!
All members are encouraged to volunteer at the pool to fulfill their (required) Annual Member Maintenance.
Serving as a leader, planner, “worker-bee” or expert in repairs helps maintain not only the club, but also the bottom line. The financial viability of the Marine Hills Swim & Tennis Club DEPENDS upon each person’s contribution of time over dollars.
All members, therefore, are able to work off their Annual Member Maintenance requirement and earn a refund!
The Annual Member Maintenance requirement is due on Opening Day each season unless hours are completed and reported prior to the Opening Date. Annual Member Maintenance Fees may be refunded back if a member’s hours are completed on or before the Fall closing pool work party in September each year.
Annual Member Maintenance Fees (by membership level) are as follows:
- $300.00 Fish & Tree (Family Membership)
- $150.00 Social
Fish & Tree Memberships are required to work 10 full hours.
Social Memberships are required to work 5 full hours.
Annual Member Maintenance Fees are waived for Emeritus memberships.
There are MANY opportunities for members to fulfill their Annual Member Maintenance hours:
- Service to the Board by a member in good standing results in a full credit of the Annual Member Maintenance requirement. Board Members must be sworn in and voted on, and the minimum term of service is 1 year.
- Volunteering as a Chairperson shall result in a ½ credit of annual maintenance fees. Chairpersons must be sworn in and voted on, and the minimum term of service is 1 year.
- Participating in Work Parties shall result in an hour-by-hour credit for work completed. Family members aged 12 and older can earn credits toward their family's Annual Member Maintenance requirement! All members must report hours worked in order to receive credit toward their Annual Membership Maintenance requirement. There are a wide variety of ongoing maintenance tasks at Marine Hills Swim & Tennis Club including: lawn mowing, flower planting, pressure washing, office unpacking and cleaning, grill cleaning and repairs, seasonal packing, and many more. Work Party events and other Annual Member Maintenance opportunities will be announced to our membership and posted to website and Facebook page.
Questions: Contact Marine Hills Maintenance, Darren McDonald at 206-850-7459 or email maintenance@marinehillspool.org for more information.
- Volunteering at events & other activities shall also result in an hour-by-hour credit for work completed.

Pre-season Work Parties
Marine Hills Swim & Tennis Club hosts three or four Work Parties before the pool opens in Spring each season, and one or two Work Parties after the pool closes in the Fall. Work parties are generally held on Saturdays from 8:00a through 1:00p (unless otherwise announced).
If you are unable to attend a work party - never fear!
Additional projects will be announced as they come up throughout the summer.
The following are a few things you can do to help make sure the work parties run smoothly:
- Sign IN and OUT - the contact organizing the work party will provide you with more information on how to sign in and out.
- If you bring children to the work party - only sign them IN if they are going to work for the (full) amount of time reported.
Annual Member Maintenance hours must be completed by Opening Day each season or the Annual Member Maintenance Fee (by membership level) will be assessed. If Annual Member Maintenance requirement is completed after the fee is paid, the fee will be refunded back at end of the season.
Annual Member Maintenance hours are based on actual time improving the pool - if you volunteer for our Swim Team, Water Polo, or other social events, WE THANK YOU - but these hours will not count toward Annual Member Maintenance hours. See Swim Team >> Volunteer Requirement for more information.
Reminder: The Annual Member Maintenance requirement for Fish & Tree (Family) Membership is 10 full hours. Don't miss out on opportunities to fulfill these hours each season!
